The inquisition

She felt sweat trickle down her eyebrow, down her back. the room was air conditioned and yet felt clammy. Her heartbeat was loud, so loud that it drowned the laugh of the young girl on her right. How someone so innocent could do something this dastardly was beyond her. She blinked her eyes, another place and time, she would have bit on her lower lip to avoid crying. The light from the lamp hit her eyes again and they burned. Yet she could not keep them closed any longer. It was 3 days since this torture had begun. She knew not how she could subject herself to such torture and she knew not how someone could be so cold hearted. As if on cue, his face appeared in front of the light. She knew his face like the back of her hand and yet he wore that mask as if it would somehow help attone for this suffering he so willingly doled out. She looked into those deep brown eyes which she had so trusted. No one would have ever guessed how sinister was the mind behind those innocent looking glasses. She still remembered how he had so easily trapped her, her gullibility had once again gotten the better of her. She closed her eyes and heard that dull drone which caused the blood vessels in her head to throb. He would never break her spirit, she was vulnerable yet strong, she was not going to..... 'Mrs. Gupta,... Mrs Gupta' She opened her eyes. There he was. The mask had slipped down and he was taking off his rubber gloves smothered in blood, destroying the last vestiges of evidence. 'Mrs.Gupta,' There it was, the twisting of the neck in a wierdly Psycopathic way. With that he looked at his assistant and smiled. She realized that it was only her presence which kept them from putting their heads back and laughing in the most maniacal manner. 'It took me six hours but I believe you are as good as new. I realize that I told you this was going to be just another filling, but your root canal is finally over.'

Hey, this really was good! Loved it! Really couldn't have guessed the twist at the end. Reminds me of O'henry stories. In case you haven't read any, please do pick up a book. They are superb!
